I have been asked about newcomer software, IvyMark, quite often lately as it has been marketing itself intensely to the design community. I spent most of last year trying to work with it and I do mean trying...the way problems are very trying to our sanity.
I finally made the professional decision to not work with the software at this point because while it may be very "pretty" and appealing to the designer's eye, my CPA brain just cannot get comfortable that I have accurate financial data to work with.
The right tools are essential to get the job done and for any business, the right accounting and in the designer's case project management also, software selection is an important part of your toolbox. In my professional opinion, the best tool continues to be Studio Designer software.
